I was recently honored to hear Marcus Lattrell speak at a meeting. I must say that it was the most moving talk I have ever heard. Pure passion, was the obvious ingredient to his survival and there was not a person in the large audience that did not redefine their own Patriotism during that talk.
Thank you Marcus for having the courage to go through your unthinkable ordeal, but for having the courage to share that awful experience that defines American Patriotism!

I was moved beyond belief and horrified. During my 15 month tour in Iraq my biggest fear was not having anyone to my left or rigth. Going through that alone is an amazing act heroism, pure will to survive and stubborness not to give in. God bless you Marcuss your team is in my thoughts daily.
We will never forget just as you never surrendered.
With Respect,

Dear Mr. Lattrell…..I just finished your awesome book…..”thank you” does not seem nearly adequate for what you and your friends have done for us in America…..your patriotism is an inspiration to me and my family and we will keep you in our daily prayers. May God give you the peace and comfort you deserve as you continue to honor your friends and deal with the sorrow of losing those dear friends…..my husband wants to read the book next and I hope to have my children and grandchildren read it as well. Thanks again. Dear PO1 Lattrell,
I have just finished reading Loan Survivor and was moved beyond words. Your dedication to the task and commitment to the mission is inspiring. For every reader it presents a personal challenge to “never quit”.
Thank you for your service to our great county.
May God continue to bless you and your family.

Mr. Lattrell,
I am currently reading your story of being the ‘Lone Survivor’ from SeAL team 10’s battle in Afghanistan. I am truly proud of your efforts as a special operator in general and particularly your survival through that horrendous event. I am greatful that you opted to tell your story and I am appreciative that NAVCOM/SPECOP authorized the publication of your story.
I am saddened, however that you vehemently (and sometimes irresponsibly) spewed such venom toward those whose political opinions differ from your own. I ask you to please re-evaluate your beleif system and re-evaluate your knowledge regarding the potential for prosecution of special operators in the Afghanistan and Iraq theaters of operation.
The Uniform Code of Military Justice is applied not by “liberals” but instead by like-minded officers from every branch of the armed services. Whether the appropriateness of a combat engagement (shooting of enemy/ indigent personell), the personal conduct while on or off duty, or the crash of a military vehicle (especially aircraft) are always investigated and potentially prosecuted as the Department of Defense deems necessary, whether to seek justice against an offender, or even to prosecute and convict someone to protect its institution against political scrutinity.
Sadly, I share your concern (and even resentment) over ridiculous prosecutions of otherwise professional and dutiful soldiers who are conducting their mission responsibly. But I also place the blame on the more responsible party, your own Department of Defense and the political games that it plays, at the sacrifice of many great soldiers.
Republicans and Democrats alike play shameless games at soldiers expense – for their own political machinations. Your vitriole against “liberals” is unfounded and unprofessional for a special operator. You (and I) swore to defend our country and to obey the orders of the President of the United States, whether “liberal” or conservative, particularly those who cannot (or will not) defend themselves. You have a job to do sailor, and your political views should not be a part of how you perform your duties… and George Bush and Dick Cheney would label you as “Un-American” and “unpatriotic” if you did not defend your country to the fullest extent possible.
I am enjoying reading your story. I am proud of you and your brethren (fallen and standing) in the SeAL family. May God bless you always.
Sincerely,
John W. Harmon

I read the book and have heard interviews of Marcus Lattrell’s most impressive, patriotic, inspiring efforts. I would like to make contact with him or a representative regarding the possibility of Marcus being a speaker at a international conference of Game Wardens from all across North America. Thanks for any information regarding my efforts to contact Marcus.

THANK YOU MARCUS! I THANK GOD EVERYDAY FOR OUR ARMED FORCES. THE DANGEROUS JOBS THEY HAVE TO PROTECT OUR LAND & FREEDOM. I ALSO REMEMBER THE FAMILIES & LOVED ONES LEFT BEHIND TO CARRY ON WITHOUT THEM. THE POLITICS HAVE RUINED EVERY ASPECT OF OUR COUNTRY. IF IT WASN’T FOR POLITICS, A LOT OF LIVES COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED. I WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU ONE DAY MARCUS. IF YOU EVER COME NEAR RALEIGH, NC., PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I WOULD BE MORE THAN HONORED TO MEET YOU!! GOD BLESS YOU & ALL OUR SERVICE PEOPLE.

Marcus,
I just read your book. I could not put it down and read it in 1 day. I cannot even begin to Thank You and your team for fighting to keep us all free. I just wish I was younger so I could have been there with you. You have inspired me to get back into shape and lose weight. This should be easy compared to what you have gone through.

Dear Mr. Luttrell:
Deeply saddened by your experience, and very appreciative of your courage and devotion to duty.
I tried to read your book, but couldn’t. My childrens cousin was on the relief helo which was shot down, in time I will read it, for I know the caliber of the men in the SEALS.

Marcus,
I come from a family that has many members serve our great country from WW1 to Vietnam thru the cold war up to and including our current situation in the middle east. Your situation was remarkable and heart warming. I want to thank you for your service, and your teammates for making the ultimate sacrifice. You and your brother and teammates are in my thoughts and prayers ! I wear a KIA braclet for Marc Lee former SEAL who was KIA on 8/2/06 in IRAQ. I wish you all the best ! As they say in BUDS the only easy day was yesterday !

Absolutely terrific book, although a terrible tale. I told my wife, a nutritionist, about the lingering problems due to the bad water. She has helped “cure” a friend who had a similar problem. She recommends a form of pro-biotics called L.Reuteri, and is available at most health food stores. Take as prescribed on the bottle for 1 month to start. The friend as of now is asymptomatic after seeing many medical doctors with no results. Please write back with any questions.
We hope that your symptoms have disappeared, and that you are doing well. God bless you and your team.

Marcus,
I am nearly finished reading your book right now. You are a true patriot and a American hero. You do a good job in the book of proclaiming your fallen brothers are the real heros, and they are indeed heros, but you are nonetheless deserving of the same title. Your book has, and will continue in the future to provide me with inspiration to pick myself up and drive on. Even in the face of insurmountable odds, as you did.
Thank you for sharing your story and the story of your brothers with the world. I will do my part to spread their story by recommending your book as often as possible. May God bless you and your family.
Thanks,
-Jeremy

PO1,
I gave this book to my wife who decided to start reading since our last PCS. After finishing in 2 days (and many tears), she gave the book back to me. As an active duty surgeon who has been in the combat arena, I understand the neglected (at times) SF attitude toward the forward line. I am humbled by your percivierence and only wish I, and the medical community, could have better been accessible to you and your fallen.
My father was KIA and my decision to pursue the military surgical career was based on this as well as your (and similar) stories.
Great book. Saddenning story,

My mother served with you in Afghanistan, not a SEAL of course. I read your book and it highly inspired me. I am in NROTC as a Marine option and hope to serve as honorably as you did. Thank you for your service!

Marcus,
I just watched the story of your young Lab being shot by thugs. I was horrified. My best friend is my Chocolate Lab. had I been in your situation, all four would be dead. You showed great restraint in letting them live. In doing so, helped our cause to avoid gun control.
I am honered to have people as yourself, standing up for our country.

Marcus Lattrell, as as Nam vet I’m rather curious as to why you would want to associate yourself with a yellow belly like Ted Nugent who boasted in no fewer than 5 major publications to urinating and defecating his jockeys to avoid serving his country during Vietnam…ya got yourself a real hero there son.

Ted Nugent interview High TImes:
“See, I approached the whole thing like, Ted Nugent, cool hard-workin dude, is gonna wreak havoc on these imbeciles in the armed forces. Im gonna play their own game, and Im gonna destroy em. Now my whole body is crusted in shit and piss. I was ill. And three or four days before, I started stayin awake. I was close to death, but I was in control. I snorted some crystal methedrine. Talk about one wounded mother fucker.”

Marcus,
Your friend Justin from the teams has kept me posted on your situation. All I can say is that I pray for you and I hope that Justin and many others like you have easy days to come ! As far as those pieces of shit that shot DASY ! I can only hope and pray that, they would have been caught earlier and that you could have wasted the HAJI’S. Peace out !

October 1977 interview of Ted Nugent: How did you get out of the draft? Ted: “So I got my notice to be in the draft. Do you think I was gonna lay down my guitar & go play army? Give me a break! I was busy doin’ itt. I had a career Jack. If I was walkin’ around, hippying down, getting’ loaded & pickin’ my ass like your common curs, I’d say “Hey yeah, go in the army. Beats the shit out of scuffin’ around in the gutters.” But I wasn’t a gutter dog. I was a hard workin’, motherfuckin’ rock-n-roll musician!…I got my physical notice 30 days prior. Well, on that day I ceased cleansing my body…Then a week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. Shit, piss the whole shot. My pants got crusted up…I was a walking, talking hunk of human shit…Then they had a urine test & I couldn’t piss, but my shit was just like ooze, man, so I shit in the cup & put it on the counter. I had shit on my hand & my arm. The guy almost puked. I was so proud…I just wasn’t into it. I was too busy doin’ my own thing, you know?”
Ted Nugent, quite the “man.”

Marcus, I just finished reading your book. I wondered if you still had your gun that God kept bringing back to you. You are in my prayers and I will also be praying daily for those of your friends who each day are in harm’s way. We do have an awesome God. Because you showed mercy early in this battle, mercy followed you as well. God is always in control and He was leading you that day. Greater love has no man than this that he lays down his life for his friend. I will always cherish the courage of your friends refusing to give up. I was very moved that Axe had kept fighting. I am glad you recovered their bodies and they are now at rest. May God bless you as you continue in His service.

I’ve read the book and met a few local seals. I cannot imagine what these warriors do and go through. I gave my book to OSU coach jim tressel, and he had the entire team 120 players read the book. Simply ROE’s to date are RAPE. I love MARCUS LUTTREL.

Great book Mr. Luttrel what an honor it must have been to have served with those heroes (Your friends and team mates). My deepest sympathies for your loss. I am a Marine veteran and have always been proud of that and my country. Your book has deepened my love for this country and the men and women who defend it. Thank you Brother and GOD bless you.
If there were any chance on God’s green earth, it would be a dream come true to have you as a guest speaker. I am a policeman for the Los Angeles Police Dept if this is even possible please advise.
Thank You,
