ONCE APPOINTED JUDGES HAVE A JOB WITH BENEFITS UNTIL THEY REACH THE MANDATORY RETIREMENT AGE OF 70 YRS OF AGE.

ONCE RETIRED THEY GET 80% OF THEIR FINAL SALARY AS A PENSION.

THE AVERAGE PAY OFA JUDGE IS $130,000 A YEAR THAT GIVES THEM A RETIREMENT OF $104,000. NOT A BAD JOB! JUDGES DON’T HAVE GO THROUGH ANY TYPE OF REVIEW PROCESS TO KEEP THEIR JOBS OR GET A PAY INCREASE.

JUDGES EVALUATIONS ARE DONE INTERNALLY BY THE MA. JUDICIAL COURT SYSTEM AND ARE DONE IN SECRET AND KEEP CONFIDENTIAL. IS THIS WHAT IS MEANT  BY A INDEPENDENT JUDICIARY THAT JUDGES CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT WHEN THEY WANT, WITHOUT HAVING TO JUSTIFY THEIR ACTIONS TO THE PUBLIC WHO PAY THEIR SALARIES? NO JURIST SHOULD RECIEVE A  LIFETIME JOB WITHOUT HAVING TO PROVE THEMSELFS. AT SOME POINT IN THEIR CAREER THEY SHOULD HAVE TO REAPPLY TO RECIEVE  THE APPOINTMENT. IF RETAINED  THE JUDGE WOULD RECEIVE A PAY UPGRADE. THIS INCENTIVE WOULD BUILD PUBLIC CONFIDENCE IN THE SYSTEM. JUDGES MUST HELD ACCOUNTABLE. I THINK THAT THEY SHOULD BE ELECTED LIKE THEY DO IN OTHER STATES.
